Total Confusion is proud to host one of the largest board game events in the New England area. Over the past few years, the board game area has grown to be an yearly favorite for both competitive players and casual gamers. From classic favorites to the latest games to hit the market, chances are, you can find it at TotalCon. So stopby to grab a quick game between other events or stay to compete in the many tournaments offered. All are welcomed to have fun! Highlights For TotalCon 26 North American Catan Championship pre-qualifier with the winner going to GenCon The Dice Tower w/ Tom Vasel, Eric Summerer, and Jim Reed to attend. 10 NE Regionals Tournaments: 7 Wonders, Alhambra, Dominion, Eminent Domain, Egizia, Power Grid, RA, Stone Age, Thurn & Taxis, and Yspahan Puffing Billy tournment Combat Commander tournament Quarriors tournament Wit's & Wagers with Tom & Eric Chairman of the Board: Chairman of the Board Award goes to the best boardgamer during the convention. You score points for placing 1st-3rd (4,2,1) in any boardgames scheduled in the boardgame room plus bonus points for placing in any boardgame tournaments. 1-10 players: 1st (2), 2nd (1) 11-20 players: 1st (3), 2nd (2), 3rd (1) 21-30 players: 1st (4), 2nd (3), 3rd (2), 4th (1) 31+ players: 1st (5), 2nd (4), 3rd (3), 4th (2) Only your best finish per title is used and you can score in up to 10 different games. The Puffy Billy 18xx and Empire Builder variants will be treated as a single game of 18xx or EB. Puffing Billy: (for full tournament rules: click here) Puffing Billy Tournament - Named after the first patented locomotive. The goal of the tournament is to encourage the play of train games. To qualify for the PBT, you must score in four different categories of train games. Your best score in each category will count toward your total Puffing Billy® score. 1 Ticket to Ride - all ticket variants 2 Empire Builder - all variants 3 18XX - all variants 4 EXpress, Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Freight Train, Ticket to Ride Card Game, Station Master, Hell Rails, On the Underground, Trans America / Trans Europe 5 Settlers of America, Metro, Streetcar, Chicago Express, Steel Driver, Trainsport, Railway Rivals / Dampfross, Stephenson's Rocket, Days of Steam, and all other 2 hour games 6 Railways of the World - all variants, Railroad Tycoon 7 Express, Brass / Age of Industry, and all other 3 hour games 8 Silverton, Steam / Age of Steam 9 Rail Baron, Baltimore and Ohio, and all other 4 hour or longer games Gaming Totes: We encouarge players to bring copies of games to make sure we have enough. However we cannot hold totes at the boardgame HQ. Please use the front of the stage if you wish bring totes into the ballroom. Do not leave totes on a table, they will be moved to the stage. We expect all tables to be in use on Saturday In addition, Total Confusion has offered special events like Wits and Wagers and Independent Games hosted by the game designers, teaching games, play to win games are also available in the board game area. New England Regionals:
Each year we select 10 games to be included in our
tournament series. These games are chosen from the most
played events from the previous Total Con plus 2 slots
reserved for new games which prove themselves from Origins,
WBC, GenCon or Essen. The format is the first round is a
series of three heats. You can play in as many as you wish.
Only your top 2 finishes are used to determine advancement.
Any 2 wins will guarantee to advance. If we get more 2-win
players than what can be seated at the final, a semi-final will be
played before the final. All tie-breakers will be based on order
of finish then percentage of winner’s score. So it’s always in
your interest to keep the leader close.
League Play Tournaments for the games Battleline, Lost
Cities and Crokinole.
Have some time to play a quick game, try one of the league
play games. They are open to all boardgame players. Play as
many times as you wish. You can play the same person 3
times day. Score three points for a win and 1pt for a loss. Top
4 to play single elimination on Sunday. Plaques awarded to the
winners.
Open Boardgaming
We will have tables available for open gaming (more on
Thursday and Sunday, less on Saturday). Also if an event
does not run we will open the table for open gaming. Please be
curtious to have your game finished and cleaned off before the
next slot time.
